Money estimate One in Thailand

If ever "money amount one" was set in time as a national catch cry, it would have to be in Thailand where the phrase "money amount one" is used countless times daily by many of the Thai habitancy in dealing with the thousands of foreign tourists they normally encounter.

Neil Hutchinson, an Aussie expat living in Pattaya has been instrumental in writing a series of books around the money amount one catch cry, which have come to be extremely beloved best sellers in recent years...

Hotel Phuket Thailand

The first of the books genuinely entitled "Money amount One", was first penned some years ago and has been updated several times to suit the ever changing influx of emotionally and sexually starved hordes of single men who have made places like Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Sumui, Chiang Mai and of procedure Bangkok among others, a quarterly "watering hole" over the past 50 years or so.

While the Money amount One Books together with his other titles such as "A Fool in Paradise", "The Fool is Back" and "A Fools Diary" are written somewhat tongue in cheek, they epitomize the humor in the sometimes ridiculous and other times tragic relationships which spring up between the local inhabitants and the dyed in the wool westerners who exertion to introduce western cultural ways and ethics into a community based on thousands of years of immense cultural difference where money amount one has been a way of life long before the modern western man set foot in the gorgeous country known as Thailand.

Mainly set in the seaside resort city of Pattaya situated on the eastern seacoast of The Gulf Of Siam in Southern Thailand, the stories contained within the Money amount One book series and their corresponding sequels and additions, vary in length and subject but are all for the most part based from true instances and events gathered over the years by Neil's own personal experiences and those of others whether relayed to Neil or told in person in one of the many bars and haunts he frequents in order to carry out his somewhat clandestine research.

Dubbed by many as "The single Man's Survival Guide to Pattaya" and "The Pattaya Bible" the Money amount One series are a recommended read by thousands of experienced Thailand visitors both male and female when advising inherent new visitors about the who, what, where and whys of Thailand long before the bags are packed to go, and genuinely long after they have been unpacked on their return home.

Although the Money amount One books are available in paper back from the shelves of many of Thailand's reputable book stores, they can sometimes be a wee late to derive in order to learn the primary lessons contained within them after arriving in Thailand and are now available for instant download in Pdf format.

Some Thai Girls Aren't Girls

Anyone who has ever visited Thailand will know about the beauty of Thai women. In their twenties, they are striking. In their thirties, they are finding more mature, but still most are very attractive.

The women working in the ubiquitous bars and massage parlors of Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket are mostly former housewives, believe it or not, married but separated, with two kids they left back in their hamlet with their mothers. Most are from Isaan, the North-East angle of Thailand, which has a large estimate of poverty. Some are from other parts of the country, especially Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, and a very few are from Bangkok or central Thailand.

Hotel Phuket Thailand

But about 1 in 100 is not a female at all, but a "ladyboy", or katoey in Thai. Quite often, they appear more feminine than the real women. I have seen many a farang ogle and lust after a very sexy woman, not realizing that "she" is a "he".

Like the women, most ladyboys are from Isaan. I have talked to a few on a one to one basis, and asked them when they first knew they wanted to be a female. All said they knew at an early age, colse to 5 or 6 years old. They said they liked the female manner, didn't like rough sports, were partial to art and music.

Katoeys are an standard part of Thai culture, determined to be a third sex in Thailand. Any are movie stars and Tv announcers. One is a national kick-boxing champion. You will find ladyboys everywhere, working as waiters, store clerks, hairdressers, couriers, etc.

In North America and Europe, a sex-change (also called a gender re-assignment) operation is determined to be a big deal, requiring many months of psychological counseling before the operation to make sure the someone is committed to the change.

In Thailand, a sex turn operation is quite common. There are Any clinics and hospitals which accomplish it, and the cost is a fraction of what the western fee would be, typically Us00-7000. Nevertheless, for a poor someone from Isaan, 00 is a huge estimate of money.

There are three main areas in Bangkok where ladyboys are present in large numbers: Nana Entertainment Plaza (on Sukhumvit Soi 4), Patpong Road (off Silom), and Soi Cowboy (close to the intersection of Sukhumvit Road and Asoke Road, which has both Bts SkyTrain and Mrt Subway stations).

At Nana, the majority of ladyboys are "pre-op", meaning they still have a penis. At Patpong and Soi Cowboy, most are "post-op", meaning they have had the operation to generate a vagina. The operation involves cutting out a section of intestine, which will become the vagina. The penis is cut open and inserted into the intestinal tube; typically some of the scrotal sac is used to increase the length of the new vagina. The tip of the penis becomes the new clitoris, and is regularly still sensitive after the policy is concluded and all has healed. The ladyboys I talked to said they could still have an orgasm, but did not ejaculate.

Scar tissue is illustrated if the post-op ladyboy retains his/her group hair, but if it is shaved off, it is difficult to tell an artificially created vagina from the real thing.

However, this is typically not the end of the story in sex reassignment. The male body is typically larger than the female, even in Thailand, where many population seem to be 80% the size of western people. The ladyboy has to take hormones for a join of years before the operation; these hormones help him grow breasts and sacrifice his facial and body hair growth. Thai men don't regularly have much body hair, compared to Western men, but they do have some; hormones or another treatment are needed to sacrifice or eliminate it. However, hormones have a side consequent of reducing the potential to ejaculate.

Males typically have a protruding Adam's apple, so that is yet another operation: it can be shaved by a surgeon to sacrifice or eliminate the protrusion. And many have electrolysis to eliminate body hair, especially in the armpits.

If you visit Nana Entertainment Plaza after 7Pm (which is when it opens), you will find Any hair-dressing establishments placed on the decks that run colse to three sides of the structure. The ones at the front cater to the bar girls; the ones at the rear cater to ladyboys. You can watch some of the ladyboys preening and establishment their makeup.

Some of the bars are exclusively ladyboys. If you enter one such bar, you will find that most ladyboys are more than passable and some are strikingly beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen an ugly ladyboy.

As far as relationships go, ladyboys are just like Thai women. They want a long-term relationship, and they will try hard to make the connection work. Many speak some English, but you genuinely need a stock like Speak Easy Thai to help you learn some basic Thai vocabulary. If you can reveal better, you have a much great chance of a continuing relationship.

A part of Bangkok's nightlife that should not be missed by any visitor, ladyboy cabaret shows are expertly done, with spectacular productions (lots of feathers and glitter, good music, and some comedy as well). You can see them at the Calypso Cabaret (Asia Hotel, Ratchathewi SkyTrain station), Golden Dome Cabaret (15 puny walk from Sutthisan subway station), and Mambo Cabaret in the former Washington Theater between Sukhumvit Soi 22 and 24.

Brisbane to Cairns Road Trip

Mention the words Road Trip in a country the size of Australia and some population will cringe in horror. The long distances in the middle of towns can turn travellers off. But it shouldn't, as there are so many places and lots to do and see, I feel the biggest thing travellers do incorrectly when planning a road trip is they don't allow sufficient time. Being rushed isn't going to add to the enjoyment. If you are on a tight schedule, fly to a central point and drive out to the locations you most want to see.

This article is going to focus on Brisbane to Cairns via the coast road (Pacific Hwy). So firstly you will need to determine how long your trip is going to be and that will determine the distance of time you will have in any one place. I am going to stick mostly to the coast but there are many astonishing places to see on the inland roads.

Hotel Phuket Thailand

Depart Brisbane:- The easiest exit route is the gateway motorway north. If you're starting point is south of the Brisbane River there is a toll to get North and there are no toll booths, so you will need to arrange for a pass or if you do go through the toll you have 3 days to call the converyance management and arrange cost via your credit card. The motorway will then merge into the Bruce Highway which will take you the rest of your trip.

The roads are cheap good but there are some road works nearby so don't be impatient, keep to the speed limits indicated and be sure to stop if you are feeling fatigued. The Racq is a good reference for road conditions in Queensland. Queensland is very hot in summer so have the air conditioning working, fullness of water to drink and some health snacks. If you are travelling with children make sure you have all things you need to make their trip as pleasurable as you can. It will impact on your holiday. Use this link for handy data on travelling with children.

Sunshine Coast: The Sunshine coast stretches from Caloundra to Noosa and there are many beautiful beaches in between. The sunny coast is not as commercialised as the Gold Coast but the outdoor action is similar. Surfing, boating, swimming, skiing or anything linked to the water is here for your enjoyment. The accommodation ranges from funds camping, cabins, family hotels and 4 and 5 star resorts. There are theme parks for the kids and the young at heart, fullness of shopping for the shopaholics, agency stores, boutiques and tailors bring it on and take your credit cards. Some places you should probably not miss:- Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo at Landsborough, Noosa National Park, Buderim's Ginger premise and Underwater World at Mooloolaba.

Gympie:- Not much to see here however it is a quaint miniature town once known as the town that saved Queensland from bankruptcy. Gold was discovered here in 1867 and at that time Queensland was in drought and the wool prices had fallen dramatically, leaving the state in a bad way. There are some lovely parks and small historical buildings to see. A quick stop over here might be nice. Once a year the County Music Muster is held here and attracts many thousands of visitors.

Maryborough:- On the Mary River, usually heading north one would not go through this town as the highway bypasses the town and does cut quite a bit of time off the journey north. This town was once a busy immigration port but nowadays is beloved with retirees.

Childers:- The highway takes you through this town which is a National Trust registered town and a centre for agriculture. The main road offers the traveller a few convenience stores, cafe` and a couple of the good Aussie pubs that serve up counter meals at cheap prices. Childers is beloved with backpackers because they can all the time get work here on the produce farms. Many will remember the terrible fire that occurred in the main road backpackers hostel in which some young population lost their lives.

If you were to look at a map of Queensland you would probably be saying hey, you have missed a few towns. Well yes, because the main highway does not go directly up the coast. However, if you have time, turn right and make the trip to the coast to Hervey Bay and Bundaberg.

Hervey Bay (On the Coast and off the highway)

Great town and busy most of the year with tourists visiting to see the whales. Whale watching tours run all day from dawn to sunset and you will be guaranteed to see the magnificent humpback whales. Tours consist of sight seeing and lunch on the day cruises, morning or afternoon tea on the half day cruises. Prices vary quite a bit, so get online to assess and save. There are fullness of beach front restaurants, cafe`s or parks for a picnic or some fish and chips, and the fish is very fresh from the fish markets here. fullness of accommodation here so visit your favourite website and compare. (I like wot if or roamfree).

Bundaberg:- Called the sugar town, as this whole area is surrounded by sugar cane farms. The Burnett River runs through the middle of the town and the many inheritance buildings make this a very engaging town for the visitor.

The town is most famous for Bundaberg Rum and the Bundy Bear, which most Aussie's will know. The distillery opened 110years ago and has never looked back. Tours are available daily and even if you do not drink, it is engaging to see how the rum is produced.

Mon Repos Beach is 15 kms east of the city and has the largest colony of nesting nautical turtles on the eastern Australian mainland. Nesting turtles are best viewed after dark 1 or 2 hours after the high tide from November to February. The visitors centre will issue you tickets to the area but turtles nest and eggs hatch at any time, so you may not see this event. Ask the locals to get the best information.

This has been a nice miniature diversion, but let's get back to the Highway

GinGin:- This very small town is known to have had some of the earliest cattle stations in Queensland and is now today still rich with pastoral and produce farms. There is a small museum here but a quick stop is all you will need.

Calliope:- Gold was once mined here, but never in a big way. The town has an historical settlement which is opened to the public, but really, the town benefits from its neighbour, Gladstone.

Gladstone:- This Central Queensland town has one of the most beautiful deep water ports on the Eastern seaboard. It is set in a resort setting with manicured lawns, facilities for the yachting society (shops, laundry, internet facilities etc) and the university has a campus here which is very active in the cultural scene. Just about the whole society is complicated with the mining commerce and you could genuinely spend a couple of days here seeing nearby the mines and loading docks. The fishing fleet is based here so it is great for a fish meal. A miniature out of town you will also find a underground treasure, the Gecko Valley Winery, a lovely spot in the hinterland where you can sample the produce and have a delightful lunch. On the way to or from Gecko Valley you will pass the Tondoon Botanic Gardens. This is an exquisite place to sit and enjoy the bushland and if you are travelling with children they will love the open spaces.

Now the trip is going pretty well and you have been very conscientious with your diet. Well that all stops here as all the fast food outlets are in Gladstone, Mac Donald's, Kfc and, Eagle boys pizza. If you are seeing for something that's not fast food, but not a fancy restaurant, try the yacht Club down by the marina. The food is great, well priced and the view is the best in town.

Rockhampton:- Is known as the Beef Capital of Australia and it is said you will get the best steaks here. Visitors will be greeted by the very large statues of cattle in the streets, "very novel". You can genuinely spend a few days in Rockhampton and the surrounding area. The town itself sits on the Fitzroy River and had its origin as a shipping port for produce and coal. Once paddle steamers travelled up and down the river, but sadly they have long gone.

Most travellers miss a few very leading places here. Firstly the Rockhampton Zoo, which is remarkably good and is a very pleasant way to spend the day, whether you are 6 or 60. If you are lucky sufficient to be there for the feeding of the apes, it will bring a smile to your face. The animal attendants are not performers but the antics with the apes are well worth the wait.

Just out of town to the north are the Capricorn Caves. These spectacular caves are a unique law of above ground limestone caves. They were discovered in 1882 by John Olsen. Tours through the caves are available daily, do not miss this attraction. The Caves offer a great caravan park or cabin accommodation which is very reasonably priced and very much 4 - 5 star.

Rockhampton-ites have their own piece of paradise just 30minutes east of town on the coast. Yeppoon, with views of Great Keppel Island is part of the Great barrier Reef. Ferry trips to the island are available daily and there is great accommodation on the island if you want to touch one of the most underrated islands of the reef. The island offers all the usual water sports and some great snorkelling in the crystal clear water.

There are a few small towns in the middle of Rockhampton and Mackay, but you will not find a lot to do there. They are great for a driver reviver stops or to refuel both the car and the family. Rest stops along the road are clearly marked. The drive in the middle of Rockhampton and Mackay has a bit of a reputation. This road claims a few travellers each year and it could well be that the 281kms is boring scenery. So take it easy and make sure you stick to the speed limits and take breaks when you need to.

Mackay:- The Sugar Capital. This very large regional city has a population of nearly 100,000 and is probably one of the most thriving regional cities in the country. It has diversified the crop yield over new years but there is still an endless vista of cane fields and with its busy bulk handling concluding at the port, it is clearly the sugar centre of Australia. The boating here is second to none and the harbour is experiencing rapid growth with new marinas production it a beloved destination with the boating community. In the hinterland of the Mackay region is Blair Althol and Peak Downs where you can visit a working coal mine or maybe fossick for gold in one of the creeks. The range of accommodation here is anything from backpackers, farm stays, camping or hotel/motel, all things to suit your funds or adventurous spirit. Once you reach this part of the Queensland coast the gardens come to be more tropical, so the parks are lush and supply a pleasant stepping back from the road travel. Don't hurry! Stop to smell the roses or orchids in this case.

Now off to the place most tourists want to visit

Proserpine:- The turn off for the Whitsunday tube and Airlie Beach

The town is dominated by the sugar commerce and sugar mill. So, off the highway again to visit the playground of the rich and famous and the not so rich and famous. "Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays" Every year hundreds of thousands of visitors come here to play in and on the ocean. Unless you are backpacking the prices can get a bit on the high side, especially during the high seasons from March to October. From Airlie Beach and Shut Harbour daily boat cruises take visitors to the many islands of the Whitsundays. The snorkelling or diving here is some of the best in the world. The water is clear, warm and fairly protected from rough weather by the reef. There are far too many island locations to mention in this article, but use this link to check out what this area has in store for you. Http://www.whitsundaytourism.com/

Back to the Bruce Highway

Bowen:- Most population would just drive right through Bowen and never think to stop. I know that I have in the past. however it is a lovely town and there are some beautiful places to check out. It has a good marina and a great Yacht Club. If you are into fishing it doesn't get much better. So be sure to pack the tackle. The Bowen area is famous for growing tomatoes and of course Bowen Mangoes. Most drivers will not even know that they drive past the Bowen Salt Works on the way into town. This salt works was set up in 1925 and produces nearby 250 thousand tonnes per annum and is well worth a stop to see. Bowen also has the Bowen Coke works, but this has nothing to do with the drink Coke. The Coke Works processes roughly 45,000 tonnes of metallurgical coke each year from Collinsville and transports it to Mt Isa after processing.

Bowen has many small but beautiful beaches and the nice thing is, not too many population know about them. So you could well be the only visitors there. The town itself isn't all that big but does have a good collection of accommodation and restaurants. There are also inheritance buildings to visit and the Bowen data centre is a good place to start.

Home Hill and Aye:- Ask most Australians and they will not be able to tell you where these two towns are. However, if you did your group studies in school, you may remember. They are called the twin towns of the north and are on whether side of the Burdekin River delta, surrounded by very fertile soil. The main crops are sugar cane and rice and you can visit the rice and sugar mills, but you will not need long here.

Townsville:- You have arrived back in civilisation. Townsville is a big town and you should plan a few days here at least. You can restock supplies and do some sell therapy and have your vehicle checked over if need be. The town was built on the establishment of coffee, cotton and sugar. The discovery of gold in nearby Charters Towers and Ravenswood did wonders to the rapid improvement of Townsville. It has heavy commerce nearby its port along with the tourism sector for boating trips out to the reef and in particular Magnetic Island, just a short ride from the marina. If you can organise the time and money, a night or two on the island is interesting. It's a nice drive nearby the island, so if you are taking the passenger ferry you can hire a vehicle (mini moke) on the island and feel the wind in your hair. The beaches on Magnetic are beautiful and a visit to the old forts left over from the Second World War will be a buzz.

To get an comprehensive view of Townsville and the surrounding area drive up Castle Hill, which looks over the town. There are museums, botanical gardens, and the casino is all the time a draw card for tourists "The Strand" is a leading promenade providing entertainment, restaurants, picnic grounds and playgrounds for the kids. The feature here is the rock pool, which provides a safe swimming area. Remember you are in the far north now and should all the time be aware of stingers in the summer months and crocodiles in remote areas.

With your destination in sight, (almost), you may not want to stop in any of the smaller towns that you will be driving through, Ingham, Cardwell, Innisfail and Babinda. These towns are pleasant country towns and supply a nice stop over for lunch, or plainly a rest stop. The drive from Townsville to Cairns is 345kms and the road conditions are good. So a nice easy morning will have you in the unofficial capital of the north.

Cairns:- So here you are in Cairns, having driven nearby 1770kms, depending how many side roads you took. Cairns is a Mecca for tourists who come to play in the north and the town is big, so you will find all things here you could maybe want. Shops, restaurants, cinema's, theatre, museums, beaches, cable car rides over the rainforest, nature walks, boating tours, diving, snorkelling and fishing. The list is never ending. So plan a well deserved rest here after that drive up but don't forget you have the whole thing to do in reverse, unless you have been clever sufficient to hire a car, drive it one way and fly back.

Tips on a thriving road trip.

Prepare the car (if it's your own) or good still hire one and let person else do the servicing

Get a map and plan the places you want to see

If travelling with children, plan rest stops frequently, they need more stops than adults

Take fullness of water in the car with you

Take healthy snacks

Take your favourite Cd's (there are a few spots where radio reception isn't good)

Know your car. How many kms do you get from a tank of fuel?

Get online to the Racq and check the road conditions

Top traveler Attraction in Mindanao Island, Philippines

The island is the 2nd largest in the Philippines with fabulous natural wonders and heart pumping travel adventure activities but unfortunately even Mindanao top traveler spots are not as visited as the other travel tourism destinations of Luzon and Visayas regions. This is a sad reality due mainly to the 'perceived' degrading peace and order situation that is often attached to the word "mindanao". Yes, there are friction ridden places in Mindanao that is best avoided for those who are only after relaxation travel but there are far more many places where you are as safe as you can be like in any other places and provinces of the Philippines.

The vastness of its land area together with the fact that majority of Mindanao provinces are landlocked, traveling and going nearby the big island to check its tourism hot spots are a lot easier as you can just hop into a car and drive away as opposed to riding boats and braving waves to go nearby the Visayas Region unless of course you are checking out the puny islands of Mindanao.

Hotel Phuket Thailand

Mindanao long thought about as the Philippine's Land of Promise offers so much to travel aficionados; the area is blessed with rich natural resources and wondrous traveler sites that just take your breath away with its simplicity and raw beauty.

The following are the most popular traveler destinations and spots in Mindanao for both local and foreign visitors:

Cagayan de Oro (Cdo) - This paramount city south of the Philippines is gateway to the major traveler spots in the landlocked provinces of Mindanao. It has its own domestic airport as well as seaport that make the life of any traveler easier. Among the top popular thing to do in Cdo is its white water rafting adventure. Get your hearts pumping on this wild river ride, caution though this adventure is not for the faint of heart because you will need to navigate the river aboard a small rubber boat while strong rapids threaten to overturn your boat and your fellow adventure seekers. Best pasalubong or local delicacy food item from Cdo is Pastel, that bread with sweet filling goodness and Chedeng's roasted peanuts.

Camiguin Island - Lanzones (a local fruit), Underwater Cemetery, Hibok-hibok Volcano, white sand beaches, easy rural living are the great tourism draw of this tiny island in the northern part of Mindanao. Be charmed with the charm of Camiguin and feast your eyes on laid back island sceneries.

Siargao Island - If you are dreaming of that huge rolling waves and cloud 9 barrels then head to Siargao, an island that faces the Pacific Ocean and the Philippine Deep on the northeastern part of Mindanao. Siargao Island is the Philippines' surfing capital and fast becoming one of the world best surfing haven, in fact every October the island is host to an international surfing competition that attracts the best surfers across the globe. Siargao belongs to the province of Surigao del Norte. Surigao Del Sur on the other hand offers secret gems like Tinuy-an Falls in Bislig City.

Bukidnon - Bukidnon is home to the largest pineapple plantation in the country, and not only that its vast plain and mountains allows the rich locals to herd horses and organize haciendas, if you want to see cowboys in the Philippines, your best bet is to go to this province.

Davao City - Davao province is the market and economic town of Mindanao and you can do a lot of things in Davao City, its capital. Here you can find one of the Philippines paramount resorts The Pearl Farm as well as the very popular Samal Island with white sand beaches and an assortment of resorts that caters to every budget. Davao is a major fruit producer for the country from the pungent smelling but tasty durian fruit to sweet sour pomelo to marang and export worthy bananas. Nightlight is bustling in Davao's Matina square in uptown area. If you are curious in wildlife you will not be disappointed because there are many wildlife conservation centers in Davao from the centers that focuses on the Philippine Eagle and Philippine Crocodiles. The Philippines highest peak, Mt Apo can also be found in Davao.

Zamboanga City - This unique city on the northwestern part of Mindanao speaks a dialect with most words inspired by the Spanish language. Zamboanga City is paramount for its colorful vintas that sail its waters and the curacha, a large type of crab.

There are still countless cities and places in Mindanao that has a great inherent of becoming one of the Philippines premier tourism destinations.

Snow Sledding and Tubing in Winter Park Colorado

Winter Park, Colorado is known as an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. There many many things to do here in the Colorado Rockies. Skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and the list goes on and on. One of the most fun outdoor activities though, especially with children, is snow sledding and tubing. Fun for the entire house and accessible from the very young to the only young at heart. What is more fun than shooting down a hill with snow flying in the air and wind in your face? Well, here in Winter Park there are any options to get your sledding on. From the free town hill to the huge Fraser tube hill to the night sledding at Sol Vista Resort there is nowhere best to do some sledding.

Let's start with the free sledding at the town park, Hideaway Park, that is for all to enjoy. Settled right on Us Highway 40 in the town of Winter Park the free hill is excellent for the younger ones. There are snow disks and sleds that the room of business has provided at the hill or you can bring your own. Sleds and snow disks can also be purchased at Safeway or City market down the road. This is old fashioned sledding. Shoot down the slope pick the sled up and walk back up then repeat. Regularly never crowded and there is a playground for kids. Check out the the tube slide that takes you to street level. Free entertainment and performance at a ski resort, I didn't think that was possible.

Hotel Phuket Thailand

Next is the Fraser Snow Tubing Hill. This is not for the faint of heart. The hill is big and the tubes fly down the hill. Serviced by a lift to take you back up the hill the Fraser Sled Hill is a days full of full of outdoor activity. I have read a consolidate of reviews that say it is perilous in a good way. With a small whole of caution this is a genuinely fun time for the whole family. The Fraser hill is, as the name states, in Fraser behind the Alco shopping center. Last season hours of carrying out were from 12noon to 9pm Monday to Thursday; 12noon to 10pm Friday; 10am to 10pm Saturday and 10am to 9pm Sunday. 2008-09 season hourly rates were for adults and for children. Reputation Cards are not accepted.

Another choice for sledding here in Grand County is over at the Sol Vista Ski Resort. Sol Vista is gift Holiday Tubing from December 27th to December 30th. Price is each and will run from 5Pm to 8Pm. Sol Vista has night skiing lights so the tubing should be very fun and exciting.

There are many outdoor activities here in Winter Park and none are more fun and as accessible as snow tubing and sledding.

The Bangkok Nightlife Guide - tour Tips For First Timers

As crazy as it may sound, I threw out the planned itinerary I created months before I arrived in Bangkok Thailand for the first time. Now I know what I did is counter intuitive to my title description summary. You see Bangkok is a city of discrepancy beyond imagination. You expect the old but pleasantly surprised to find the new. New buildings, new malls and new condos that stand side by side with Buddhist temples centuries old. It's a city with a modest people and culture, yet the red light districts show a determined other side. Bangkok has lured millions of men from all over the world. And you can see them congregating in groups or alone, patrolling and gravitating to the famous nightlife areas of Patpong, Soi Cowboy and Nana. There are more locations of course. However as a first timer to Bangkok, these are the best places to test the waters before you bravely dive off into the deep end.

First off before I begin I want to say that Bangkok's raucous nightlife has much to offer in adult entertainment. The most infamous offerings is the sex for sale trade, sold mostly by woman from the North East province of Isaan. However, there are ways to have a good time without going down that road. Don't get me wrong. I'm not here to judge. Everyone is entitled to their own decisions. I am though just suggesting that Bangkok is a party capital filled with ultra contemporary clubs, jazz bars, and other music venues that put western clubs to shame. Thus these types of entertainment venues should never be overlooked. You might even be surprised you have more fun without the funny stuff.

Hotel Phuket Thailand

With that said we'll begin our short tour now with the red-light district of Patpong. Patong is situated in the middle of Silom Road and Surawongse Road, two major streets that you can't miss because it is packed full of foreign traveler at night. Check out the Night market where you will find cheap knockoffs of famous goods. Stay away from the Rolex, your friends at home can tell it's fake. Patpong is infamous for the Ping Pong sex shows where woman launch... Well ping pongs out of their vagina at provocative targets and audience members. You will also find many of the famous established go go bars with names such as Super Pussy, King's Castle and Queen's Castle. Among the seedy bits you can find a smattering of Irish Pubs such as Barbican, O'Reilleys and Bobby's Arm.

The next stop is Soi Cowboy, a block stretch of road filled to the rafters with go go bars with names such as Long Gun and Rawhide. You should start a game with your friends to see how many ladies have tried to pull you into the establishments they work in. Though the smallest in size Soi Cowboy still packs quite a punch. A kaleidoscope of provocative lights and blaring music Soi Cowboy is located on Asoke, centered near industrial buildings as well as first rate hotels.

The final stop is Nana, or Nana Entertainment Plaza. A concentrated four story tribute to the sex and sin of Bangkok. In here you will find the most condensed cross section of go go bars and bars with freelancers. The ground floor is an open veranda jam packed with men from all over the world jockeying for position in the quest for company. It's legitimately a sight to see and should not be missed.

All of the nightlife hot spots I've mentioned here are easy to find and get to as all are located near Bangkok's metropolitan train system. Even taxi drivers with minuscule English skill should understand once you say, Patpong, Soi Cowboy and Nana. With so much to do and see, whatever in their right mind should start out with a plan. But as you can see sometime it's best to toss out the plans and just go with the flow. You just might end up having more fun. I legitimately did.
